DESIGN CONCEPT:
Lönnrotinkatu 18 is a unique and fully modernised loft-style office property in the heart of Helsinki, owned by Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company. The building was completed in 1939 and has undergone many alterations over the years.
The building was renovated from top to bottom according to PES-Architects’ design. The interior was converted into modern, multi-functional office spaces while retaining the personality of the original functionalist building. Exposed brick walls bring warmth and character to spaces. The property offers high-class premises for a variety of uses; present tenants include start-ups, publishing companies and IT firms. PES-Architects also designed most of the interiors for the new tenants.
Two new restaurant premises were built on the street level, and the courtyard features a summer terrace seating 50.
